FAQ's
How experienced is the staff?
We're happy that you asked! Two of the managers have over 30 years of experience EACH. The third manager has over 15 years of experience. All of our staff members have experience in the field and have been refined with our specialized grooming techniques.
Do you only groom dogs?
No. We groom dogs and cats, trim nails on bunnies and guinea pigs.
Update: September, 2019: At this time, we only groom dogs.
What do you require for a grooming?
First, you need to register into our system. You can do that here. We do require up to date vaccines and proof of current rabies vaccine. Once your pet's info is entered into your record and verified, you are all set.
How can I schedule an appointment?
When you are filling out your client application, please add your requested appointment day and time in the notes section and we will do our best to fit your baby in as close to that as possible and call you back to verify with you. Alternately, you can always call or stop in and we'll be happy to assist you. 863-644-9663(WOOF) or 863-644-7877(PURR)
Please note: An appointment request is NOT an appointment. Our staff will call to VERIFY your appointment. We often have multiple requests for the same day and time. When that is the case, we work on a first requested, first verified basis.
Will my pet have to be there all day for a grooming?
Absolutely not! We do our best to schedule appointments so that your pet's grooming will begin within minutes of you leaving him or her with us. Before you leave, we will give you an estimate of how long we think we will need to complete the grooming. This is just an estimate and can change depending on various factors, but this is our best guesstimate. We will give you a call and let you know when we are finishing up so that you can sart heading in. We spoil your baby while they are here but we know that pets are more comfortable in their familiar surroundings. Pets must be picked up within 1 hour after the grooming is finished unless arrangements are made in advance.
What if I'm in the middle of something when you are done?
No worries! Just let us know your in the middle of something when we call you and let us know when you'll be able to make it.
What if I want JUST nails done on my pet? How does that work? How long will I have to leave my baby? (Or any of the other Al-a-Cart items)
Appointments for nails, or any of the Al-a-Cart items, are done while you wait in our reception/lounge area. Nails only take about 10 minutes to complete. Why should your baby be here all day for a 10 minute process? The same policy applies to any of the Al-a-Cart items-we will take care of your baby while you wait.
Do you charge separately for everything I want done?
Of course not! All groomings include a bath, hand blow dry/fluff out, ear cleaning, nail trimming, anal gland expression (in breeds that require it) and a 15 minute brush out. There are upgrades, add-ons, and spa services that are additional charges. However, our grooming procedures are really quite inclusive. Al-a-Cart items are stand alone services that do not include a bath and they are individually priced.
Is there a discount if I don't want something done that is included in a normal grooming?
No. Our grooming packages are actually designed to give you an overall discount compared to seperate pricing. Our packages include the basics and what every pet deserves to look and feel their best. (See our blog post for more on this.) However, if you choose not to have something done, we will omit it from your baby's grooming at your request.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Visa and Mastercard.
We do NOT accept senior pets as first time clients. As pets get older, grooming can be very stressful for some pets. If they have underlying health issues, perhaps even undetected, grooming can be a very sensitive event. It is our professional recommendation that they be groomed at a veterinarian office, where they can more closely be monitored. HOWEVER... * If we have been grooming your pet over the years and we have formed a bond and connection with them, we most likely know what is "normal" FOR THEM. In these cases, we are happy to continue grooming these senior babies unless or until there is a health issue that we feel would suggest that it would be their best interest to be groomed at a vet's office. We love our Fur-Babies and always want to do what's in their individual best interests.
